A good understanding of the early relationships between people from different cultures with the environment that surrounded them and how those interactions influence our present situation is not only important to build our identity as human beings, but also an important component of nature conservation, especially in the field of environmental education.
Recognizing the importance of this field of studies, WILDCONSCIENCE personnel has been trained in the fields of archaeology, including exploration and excavation of underwater cultural heritage. The training organized by UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), RCE (The Dutch Agency of Cultural Heritage) and NAS (Nautical Archaeology Society) included planning and conducting underwater surveys, searching for sites, use of specialized software, data management, grant proposal writing, communicating results to the public, and international legislation and conventions among others.
WILDCONSCIENCE also cooperates with the foundation aiming to protect the maritime patrimony of Bonaire, Fundashon Patrimonio Marítimo Boneiru (Stichting Maritiem Erfgoed Bonaire) and will gladly participate in projects of this class. We can help you with:
